I love painting outdoors and how art can positively impact people’s lives and imaginations. Art… whether it’s a masterpiece or not is an expression of our individual human experiences and a way to communicate feelings, moments or perspectives in ways that words can’t. It encourages a connection with each other and encourages self awareness and self reflection which are the keys to well being. Plein air painting gets me outside, off my phone and keeps me connected with nature and being excited about colors, tonal values, composition, atmospheric perspective and appreciation for the beautiful world around me.
I graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a BFA. I also really enjoy working as an Instructional Designer which involves curriculum, program learning design, building assessment strategies for education and training. I have a Master's Degree from UBC in Educational Technology and Learning Design and I work as an Instructional Design Consultant for companies and educational institutions. I live part time in Radium HotSprings BC and part time in Calgary , AB and I paint plein air and hike in my spare time. Life is good.
